Ingredients

1 wedge of watermelon - thinly sliced/cut into maple leaves (286 g)

Optional: coloured straws or popsicle sticks


Canada Day Watermelon Maple Leaf

Directions

  1. Cut 1 wedge of watermelon (approx. 1/16 of a watermelon). Cut out 6 - 8 shapes, using a pairing knife or your favourite cookie cutter.
  2. Remaining watermelon left around shapes, cut into cubes (can be used in your favourite fruit salad). 
  3. Insert optional straw or popsicle stick through stem of maple leaf shape.
  4. Display in tall vases or glasses for easy to grab treats. 

Yields 6 - 8 portions

Tips & Variations

  • For a red and white version, dip watermelon cut outs in coconut milk and coat in shredded coconut.
