Ingredients  

  • 2 tbsp butter (30 g)

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced) (14 g)

  • ½ sweet onion (minced) (220 g)

  • 1½ cups ketchup (360 g)

  • ½ cup brown sugar (90 g)

  • 3 tbsp honey (45 g)

  • 2 tbsp vinegar (20 g)

  • 2 tbsp worcestersire (30 g)

  • ¼ cup cocoa powder (25 g)

  • 2 tsp salt (10 g)

  • 2 tsp chili powder (4 g)

  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (1 g)

  • 2 tsp dried mustard (4 g)

  • 1 tsp black pepper (2 g)

  • 1 tsp coriander (2 g)

  • 1 tbsp garlic powder (10 g)

Directions

Melt butter in a medium pot over medium heat. Add minced onion and garlic, sauté until tender. (Approx. 10 minutes).


Add remaining ingredients to onion mixture and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.


Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

 

Tips & Variations

  • BBQ sauce is great with Chicken or Ribs.

  • Bake, BBQ or use as a dipping sauce.

  • Sauce can be stored in an air tight container for up to 1 week in the refrigerator.
