Ingredients

  • 4 oz unsweetened chocolate (113 g)
  • ½ tsp salt (2 g)
  • 3 cups granulated sugar (410 g)
  • 12 fl oz can evaporated milk (370 ml) (378 g)
  • ½ cup butter (111 g)

Directions

In a medium pot, combine chocolate, salt and butter. Stir until melted over low heat.


Gradually add sugar, ½ cup at a time, while continuing to stir until all granules are melted over med heat (approx 10-15 minutes).


Slowly add in evaporated milk, stirring continuously. Stir just until combined, remove from heat and serve warm over your favourite desserts.

Cool mixture and store in fridge.

 

Tips & Variations

  • Mixture can be warmed in microwave.
  • Chocolate sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks (in an air tight container).
