Ingredients 

1 large onion - cut in rings and separated (344 g)

1 tbsp vegetable oil (15 g)

1½ cups milk 2% (340 g)

1 cup Kinnikinnick All Purpose Flour Blend (180 g)

1 tbsp granulated sugar (15 g)

½ tsp salt (2 g)

½ tsp paprika (1 g)

½ tsp garlic powder (2 g)

Additional oil required for frying 

Optional: Kinnikinnick Panko Bread Crumbs 

Gluten-free Panko Crumbs in bowl, fried onion rings behind & ingredients

Directions

  1. Cut onion into desired thickness of rings and submerge in cold water for 30 minutes.
  2. Combine oil and milk in a small bowl. Whisk until combined.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine Kinnikinnick All Purpose Flour Blend, sugar, salt, paprika and garlic powder. Mix until combined.
  4. Slowly add liquid to dry ingredients. Whisk until combined.
  5. Preheat deep fryer to 350°F (176°C).
  6. Coat onions in batter until covered. Shake off excess batter.
  7. Coat battered onion rings in optional Kinnikinnick Panko Bread Crumbs. 
  8. Deep fry in preheated oil until golden brown flipping once (time will vary depending on thickness of batter and size of onion ring).
  9. Cool slightly on paper towel prior to serving.

Tips & Variations

  • For a crispier onion ring, coat battered onion rings in Kinnikinnick Panko Bread Crumbs prior to frying.
