Ingredients
3 tbsp vegetable oil (45 g) 1 large egg (56 g) 1¼ cups water (300 g) 1½ cups Kinnikinnick Pancake and Waffle Mix (278 g) ½ cup cocoa powder (50 g) 1 tsp baking soda (4 g)
Directions
Preheat waffle iron to 350°F (176°C). Coat waffle iron lightly with cooking spray or brush with oil.
In a bowl combine Kinnikinnick Pancake and Waffle Mix , cocoa powder and baking soda. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, mix the egg, oil and water. Slowly add the dry blend and continue to mix until batter is smooth.
Drop batter onto preheated waffle iron. Follow waffle iron directions for bake cycle. Yields 3 Waffles

These waffles have a distinct bitter chocolate flavour. For a sweeter waffle version, add ¼ cup granulated sugar at the dry ingredient stage.
